This project aims to demonstrate a miniature array of electromagnetic actuators capable of transmitting virbo-tactile pulses to the finger-tip of a human operator. If successful, the proposed device will be able to convey edges and corners of virtual objects to the user. |

Andras Eppel, Spring 2009 My task during the semester will be to develop an optical measurement system to capture the displacements of a milling machine during its operation. The main tasks include design of an experimental setup that is able to measure the displacements, development of a MATLAB code to collect the sensor data and to separate the self-induced vibrations of the end mill from the the displacements caused by the cutting process.
